How to signup in IRC

Hey all,

Just I came to know about IRC Network. Like to take part. Is
there a signup process. Where should i signup ? If no How to take part
in chats. Hope my Chat client Gaim can serve this purpose in a pretty
well manner. Or let me know if there is a better chat client.

There is no signup for 99.99% of IRC. You connect to an IRC server,
join a channel, and start talking.

Using windows? Try mirc or pirch.

Start with www.irchelp.org and go from there.

We may chat here as a part of some dedicated program to it where a few followers come... not like ICQ I presume

Indeed, it is not.
However, many though not all networks offer nickname registration through a
service called "NickServ" or similar means.
